Project Overview: 358 Security Mesh Fencing, 104 Metres Installed
We recently wrapped up a specialized fencing project for Exacto Projects at the Endeavour Energy Substation located next to the iconic Eastern Creek Speedway. With a clear focus on security, durability, and visual privacy, this project required precision execution and high-grade materials to meet both regulatory and operational standards.
Scope of Work & Construction Details:
358 Security Mesh Fencing, 104 Metres Installed
Also known as Anti-Climb Mesh, this fencing is the gold standard for high-security sites.
Material: Galvanized steel with a black powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and a sleek, non-reflective appearance.
Mesh Profile: 76.2mm x 12.7mm aperture size, 4mm wire thickness with V press at top and bottom. The tight mesh spacing makes it virtually impossible to climb or cut with hand tools.
Posts: Heavy-duty RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) steel posts, bolted into the concrete capping beam at 2.4m intervals for structural integrity.
Fixings: Tamper-proof fixings and security washers, ensuring panels remain firmly in place and resistant to forced entry.
Finish: Powder-coated in satin black for low visual impact and long-term weather resistance.
Security Fencing with Colorbond Cladding, 54 Lineal Metres
Located along the boundary closest to the speedway, this section of fencing was designed to reduce visual access and improve privacy.
Framework: Galvanized/Powdercoat black steel rails and posts.
Cladding: Colorbond steel panels securely fixed to the fencing framework. Panels were selected in a muted tone to blend with the surroundings and minimize distraction.
Height: Designed to match the rest of the perimeter fencing, ensuring seamless continuity and consistent security levels.
Purpose: Acts as a visual barrier between the racetrack and the substation, shielding sensitive equipment and workers from outside view.
Vehicle & Pedestrian Gates
2 x 6-Metre Wide Double Swing Gates
Constructed using heavy-duty steel framing and infilled with 358 mesh for consistency with the surrounding fence.
Equipped with industrial-grade hinges, drop bolts, and lockable latches.
Designed for easy access by service vehicles while maintaining full perimeter security when closed.
1 x Pedestrian Access Security Gate
Installed with a security hinge and lockable latch system.
Reinforced steel frame and mesh panel to match fencing specs.
Positioned for convenient foot access without compromising site security.
Installation Highlights:
All fence lines were laser-aligned and installed with precision to accommodate the site’s terrain.
Posts were set in engineered concrete capping beam to ensure long-term structural stability.
Site safety protocols were strictly followed, particularly given the proximity to a live substation and high-traffic raceway.
