High Security Fencing
Layered perimeter systems for the sites that cannot afford a weak link: critical infrastructure, defence, rail, utilities and data centres.
High Security Fencing across Sydney, NSW and Australia wide
High security fencing is a system rather than a product. LS Fencing Services designs and installs anti-climb, anti-cut perimeters that combine 358 mesh or palisade lines with the right topping, tamper-proof rear fixings, concrete plinths where tunnelling is a risk, and automated, access controlled gates as the only moving part.
The mesh uses small apertures that deny any grip or foothold and heavy zinc alloy coated wire that defeats conventional tools. Palisade lines use a straight steel pale with a curved top on the attack side, in triple point, single point or flat top. Recent high security work includes the 3 metre fence with razor wire and concrete plinth for TransGrid at the New England Solar Farm and the 358 mesh perimeter at Endeavour Energy's Eastern Creek substation.

Frequently asked questions about high security fencing
Anything not covered here, the office answers on 1800 572 878 during business hours.
What makes a fence high security rather than just a security fence?
High security fencing is a system rather than a product: an anti-climb, anti-cut line such as 358 mesh or palisade, the right topping, tamper-proof rear fixings, a concrete plinth where tunnelling is a risk, and automated, access controlled gates as the only moving part. Any one of those on its own leaves a weak link.
Is there an Australian Standard for high security fencing?
There is no single standard that defines a high security fence. Chainwire has AS 1725, and the rest comes from the asset owner's specification: Transport for NSW, the Department of Defence, Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, Essential Energy and data centre operators each publish their own. For protectively marked sites, LS Fencing Services has a SCEC endorsed product range.
358 mesh or palisade: which one should I specify?
358 mesh gives the best anti-cut and anti-climb performance with clear visibility through the fence, which suits substations, rail and data centres. Palisade gives impact resistance and a strong visual deterrent. Many high security perimeters combine the two, with mesh on the main line and palisade or plinth details where vehicles or tools are the threat.
How long does a high security perimeter take to deliver?
Mesh panels, pales, posts and gates are fabricated and hot-dip galvanised to the specification before installation starts, so the lead time is longer than a stock chainwire fence. Large perimeters are staged so the site stays secure throughout, and night works are available on road and rail corridors. The program is set out with the quote.
What drives the cost of high security fencing?
Height, the mesh or pale specification, the topping, whether a concrete plinth or anti-tunnel detail is needed, the number of gates and the level of automation and access control, detection readiness, ground conditions and the site location. Remote sites add accommodation and logistics, which LS Fencing Services manages.
Do your crews work on live infrastructure sites?
Yes. LS Fencing Services runs ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified management systems, so SWMS, inspection and test plans, site inductions and documented handover are standard on every job. Recent work includes the 358 mesh perimeter at Endeavour Energy's Eastern Creek substation and the 3 metre fence with razor wire and plinth for TransGrid at the New England Solar Farm.
